Today the the team celebrated eight years of providing a dedicated, case-loading, homebirth service for families booked with the Royal Surrey!
This year we took inspiration from The Greatest Showman with a circus themed party complete with red noses, popcorn, and candy floss- and the tag line- Your Body, Your Baby, Your Show!
We were delighted to see so many familiar faces and get the chance to observe how much your little ones, and you as parents, had changed and grown over the preceding months!

Instant Mermaid: Just Add Water!
It was a total pleasure for the team to witness the birth of this beautiful little mermaid at #home in the #pool while her big brother popped out with his grandparents #HomeBirthJustHappened #continuity #BetterBirths @RSCH_Maternity
For some reason this picture particularly resonates with the team who consume more than their far share of both tea and biscuits!
It was a total pleasure to support these second time parents as they welcomed their second child, their first son and homebirth, in to the world.
After a straightforward and quick first #birth this mum knew that she wanted to birth at #home with her second and the team were delighted to support her & celebrate with her* when she did exactly that #HomebirthJustHappened
*Tea the official celebratory drink of the on call midwife
A very civilised way to spend a afternoon, the speedy birth of a gorgeous little boy followed by a spot of tea!

Each one of the Surrey Hills team was incredible. I am truly grateful for them helping me have the birth experience I wanted. Continue reading
