It Started with a Kiss

The team have had the very great pleasure of supporting this couple throughout pregnancy and the early weeks of parenthood. Although plans changed prior to birth the team were delighted to still be able to witness this little ones arrival earthside.

Introducing… Lucy

Hello! My name is Lucy and I am thrilled to have joined the Surrey Hills Homebirth team in September 2019.

My interest in midwifery was born during my previous career in childcare, where I loved building trusting relationships with families. Through years as a maternity volunteer and eventually a maternity support worker at Royal Surrey, my passion grew and I went on to complete my degree and Midwifery training at Frimley Park. Throughout workingacross inpatient wards, labour ward and the midwifery led unit, building these relationships with women and their families has remained at the centre of my practice.

I was extremely fortunate as a student to spend my elective placement with the Surrey Hills team. This fueled my passion for homebirth and the continuity of care provided within acase loading model. I witnessed how powerful continuity and trusting relationships are in facilitating a safe environment that both respects and enables physiological birth. This experience truly shaped me as a midwife, and I feel extremely honoured, priviledged and excited to be a member of this fantastic team!

I look forward to supporting your journey to parenthood!
